Action Against Discrimination
On a sunny day, unity was shining bright. An immediate call to action was made by the president of the CSUMB, Dr. Dianne Harrison, and consensus all around the campus is that she acted very quickly. Within 24 hours the response was bring together the students and faculty outside the OC, joining hands to make a circle representing that "the community at CSUMB are united as one together" and that they will stay as one to hold strong against any type of discrimination. This was in wake of what could have been as many as three racial incidences that occurred on campus within a week of each other. The most noticeable was written outside the OC, in chalk on the cement. At the gymnasium, comments were allegedly heard outside saying"I wish we could go back to the good old days of slavery." Also racist comments were supposedly heard outside the OC as well.the scene was beautiful, as it attracted many concerned people that brought an uplifting spirit in it otherwise politically embarrassing moment for the campus. But the faculty didn't care, they invited the news to show that they were serious
